Dhoni in a dilemma
MS Dhoni is a man of words and he mince words also as per his own whims and fancies. Dhoni aired his intention to quit one form of the game so as to give fillip to the team's chances in the 2015 World Cup. With his team going down to South Africa in both the forms of the game, the Indian captain would like struck around for some more time as his position is very weak as of now. By quitting captaincy from either Test cricket or T-20 cricket his chances of survival hinges around on few chances he will be getting and to avoid such an eventuality, he would like to continue for more time to stabilize his position in the side. Now, Mahendra Singh Dhoni is not averse to the idea of continuing as the skipper of the the Indian cricket team in all the three formats and opined that it will be unfair to burden a new player with the mantle of captaincy with just one year left for the World Cup. To prove this point he consider himself fit also and not talk about his wonted form preventing to score runs on overseas conditions. Under Dhoni India has played 13 Tests overseas - winning one, drawing three, and losing nine - a winning percentage of 7.69%, a drawing per centage of 23.07%, and a losing percentage of 69.23%; in these 13 Tests, which is a poor track record for a captain expressing his wish to continue further. Again, recent run up to his wish to continue as captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni scored just 506 runs at 24.10 and he could not prove his mettle as a batsman and his keeping is not of high class to get a permanent place in the side. In the history of Indian Test cricket, no Indian captain has such a poor record overseas across four consecutive Test series - and one was against a weak Windies team, and the most recent was only two Tests - and he carries an average of 24.10 as a major batsman show his class. Brad Haddin did make 493 runs in a 5 test series with an average of 61.63 and his wicket keeping was top class against lethal fast bowling attack, whereas Dhoni try to avoid taking responsibilities and his wish to continue as captain in all the three formats is not supported with his form and the lackadaisical approach to captaincy is a liability to the side. Dhoni is in total dilemma.
