Harbhajan is highly hurling the ball just like a javelin thrower
Australian umpire Hair is having guts to call certain bowlers for chucking and revealing about the suspicious action in his book IN THE BEST INTEREST OF THE GAME. Hair is right in calling that several bowlers chucked during the World cup matches and Harbhajan is having a highly suspicious action. By over appealing and by fooling the umpires, Harbhajan Singh was able to get some wickets at the International level. And when he is having a lean period he is trying to change the attention by criticizing Umpire Hair. Umpires are sole judges of unfair play and CHUCKING is also part of unfair play, as the bowler get undue advantage to fox the batsman. It is indeed a sad story of Harbhajan Singh. Now Hair trains his guns on Harbhajan Singh. When the Australian umpire called a CHUCKER we considered as a racial slur. But our own Bishen Singh Bedi is advocating this fact all these years. The list of chuckers mentioned by Hair include Johan Botha as well. There is nothing wrong in calling a spade as spade. With limited success with the ball, Singh has option but to chuck some balls to get few wickets. Otherwise he will chucked out of the side once for all. Harbhajan is trying to save his face by criticizing Hair. But the fact is that he chucked initially and got hundreds of wickets and again when he is in a soup he is trying to do some thing over and call it DOOSRA. It is time for looking for off-spinner Ashwin and support him in the spin department we have Amit Misra. P.Ojha can be kept in the side as a support bowler on Indian wickets. Even by seeing the bowling action with naked eye you can observe that the spinner is hurling a javelin and not bowling. Both Prasanna and Venkatraghavan were having very good easy action and were able to float the ball in the air and there was good purchase of the wicket. Whereas Harbhajan Singh did struggle get vital wickets and generally aim for tail-enders wickets to reach the milestone of 400 wickets with great difficulty. Under the new proposals, the tolerance limit for straightening of the arm for all bowlers was to be set at 15 degrees, which studies had shown is the point at which the naked eye can make out excessive straightening. This was taken into account when referring a bowler for chucking. Harbhajan Singh if he feels he is having a fair action need not respond to Hair, as the umpire is not in International scene after all. Since Bished Bedi also raised a similar doubt about Harbhajan's action we need not take it as a racial slur. Singh is sadly out of form and the selectors were right in showing him the door quoting injury problem. Presently Amit Sharma played like a regular batsman and that too against famous English bowling and he is an automatic choice in the side as a bowling all-rounder. It is time to encourage an upcoming off-spinner instead of giving chance to a tested bowler all the time. Harbhajan was the major reason for the disaster for the debacle in England. He not only very badly but bowled a very poor delivery, which hurt Gautam Gambhir and sent him in the injured list when the batting of the Indian Team was in tatters. In the recent past, there was a question mark about the inclusion of the off-spinner in the side as he failed to get wickets time and again. Instead of making a big fuss about the Hair's comment we should make a study of his bowling during Ranji games and then give clearance. Fair action is required for an off-spinner to reap rich harvest of wickets as England's Greame Swann is doing in International cricket. Harbhajan should improve his action if he is really interested to make a comeback.
